...(Finns) started drinking very early because it is tax free, and thus far cheaper than in Finland. We didn\'t, of course.
When we hopped off the ferry we walked orientationless to the city centre. Thanks to our friend Becks (not Becky) we had a travel guide that gave us all the important information on Estonia, Tallinn and what to do and see there. Basically, we just walked around the Old Town, which is very beautiful!! Lots of old and colourful buildings, plenty of churches - we counted around ten in the area of the Old Town, and quite a lot of Irish people. Why Irish? Well, the football match Estonia v Ireland was on that night and so all the Irish football fans did some sightseeing as well. After seeing the most important things, e.g. The Three Sisters, Town Hall, Old Pharmacy, Holy Spirit Church, Parliament Building, etc., we had a very nice lunch at a restaurant called \'Kaevukohvik\'.
Just before we caught the cruise back to Helsinki, we stopped by at an Alko Store to buy some cheap alcohol. Just for a comparison: An ordinary bottle of white wine costs 7 Euros in Helsinki, in Tallinn I paid 3,50 Euros.... At about 8.30pm the ferry eventually pulled in and we were back home again. This trip to Tallinn was very worthy! Great sights, beautiful city and far cheaper than up here!
On Sunday then it was time for ice hockey. Finland played Sweden. This game was party of a tournament between Finland, Czech Republic, Russia and Sweden. This was my first time watching ice hockey life. I have seen it before on TV, seeing it life is different though. There were hardly any Swedish fans in the crowd - I think, we counted about four or five blue-yellowish people. The match itself was a whole lot of fun and really interesting with some nice goals and fights/tackles. Unfortunately, Finland lost 3-4 in the end:( Overall they became second in the tournament just behind Russia.
That was it for now. Next event will be Lappi:)
