Dolphin Surfin' :-))

23.12.2009 | Bilder2 | Kommentare0 | Neuseeland  - Kaikoura
It's unbelievable. We came to Kaikoura on the 22th of dec and already on the 23th we did two highlights over here. We started early in the morning (5:30am) with Dolphin...

...Swimming. First I was a little concerned to be so close to wild animals, because I had a really bad experience with penguins. My sister and me we were standing far away but more than 20 people were standing around one penguin - poor penguin he didn't know what to do and even more: stupid tourists! Not to realize that he was really scared.

But with the dolphins it was a little different. They are in the open sea, so they can flee whenever they want to. And we were told not to touch them. But what should I say - stupid tourists again: I saw one girl trying to approach one of them...

And another thing: Dolphin Swimming is much more "dangerous" than Sky Diving. 6 of 13 people were seasick, but not the Ruppels! I only heard of 1 person maybe out of 50 who was not feeling "brilliant" after skydiving. And that was Steffen - strange german guy - maybe some of you will remember him.

After the Dolphin Swimming my sister and me we were completely exhausted and took a nap for over 3 hours. I never thought it will be so sustained. But so much fun... and good pictures as well ;-)

But the day had still a few hours left, so we decided to go surfing!!! Best fun ever! Normally I was really talking bad about all these surfer dudes and maybe some of them are but the sport itself is pure entertainment. And the whole group managed to stand on the board after the first lesson!!!
