...I had a new one from the bus company. The sent me an pre-schedule with the information, that busses in the south are now going almost everyday. A little late I would say, because I already booked a rental car.

So I stayed there till this morning (tuesday), had a lot of fun with australian and canadian guests, took some nice photos and took another bus back to Reykjavik. At Reykjavik I took another bus to the airport and then a shuttle... does not really matter, I got a rental car now. Looks a little bit like my car in NZ and especially for that price I would have bought one down there, but now I can go to the Westfjords :-))))

I already drove up to Borgarnes in the western part of Iceland using the shortcut: tunnel at Akranes. Believe it or not the drive through price is the same one as for a beer (900 ISK). Cheap tunnels but really expensive beers :-(

Ich habe gerade vier Nächte im besten Hostel Islands verbracht. Bin letzten Freitag mit einem der Busse nach Vik runtergefahren. Abends habe ich dann sogar noch eine Mail vom Busverein bekommen, dass der neue Busfahrplan verfügbar sei - Umstellung auf Sommerfahrplan, zumindest für den Süden. Leider ein bisschen zu spät, denn ich hatte nachmittags einen Leihwagen gebucht.

Ich war dann bis heute morgen (Dienstag) in VIK und hatte viel Spaß mit einem Australier und abschließend mit zwei Kanadierinnen. Viele Fotos gemacht und heute im Bus zurück nach Reykjavik. Dort in den nächsten Bus zum Flughafen, dann in ein Shuttle... Egal, lange Geschichte, ich habe nun meinen Leihwagen. Sieht ein wenig wie mein Auto in NZ aus und für so einen Preis hätte ich es dort unten kaufen können, aber nun kann ich zu den Westfjorden.

Ich bin heute schon bis Borgarnes gefahren und habe den Tunnel bei Akranes als Abkürzung genutzt. Unglaublich aber wahr, die Tunneldurchfahrt ist genau so teuer wie ein Bier (900 ISK, ca. 5,50 Euro). Günstige Tunnelfahrten, aber sauteures Bier!
